Damon braces

What are braces?

Orthodontists use braces  to fix bite issues, functional problems and aesthetic issues too. The treatment can be started in childhood or at a later age too, depending on the state of the gum and the jawbone. In some cases, oral surgery is needed before the placement of the braces, but with modern techniques extraction can be avoided more and more often.

Damon braces

The Damon technique is named after the famous, American orthodontist, Dr. Dwight Damon. This revolutionary system utilizes a unique passive self-ligating bracket and very light forces to achieve results beyond previously conceived expectations.

Damon braces have a unique built-in sliding door that holds the wire allowing it to move more freely than traditional braces. These appliances use very gentle pressure, working with the natural forces of the patient’s body. This allows the dental arch form to develop the way they were designed to function.

Thanks to the natural forces of the body, in most cases, the final result is reached much faster with fewer appointments and less discomfort. With the Damon technique extractions are less frequently needed and there no expanders or headgear is used.

Advantages of the Damon technique

  • Special, passive self-ligating brackets are placed onto the surface of the teeth. These do not use rubber bands like traditional braces, as the rubber causes too much friction which makes the treatment more painful. Damon brackets are tieless and move the teeth with very light natural forces.
  • Fewer appointments are needed, as the braces don’t need to be adjusted as frequently as traditional braces.
  • The treatment is more comfortable, thanks to the use of light, natural forces.
  • Damon braces are less forceful than traditional braces, but they are more efficient and can have spectacular results in a short time.

Damon Q metal braces

Advantages:

  • all the advantages of traditional braces
  • uses light, natural forces
  • healthier for the gum and teeth
  • faster results
  • wider arch for a more aesthetic smile
  • less appointments

The most important feature of Damon braces are the passive self-ligating brackets. These are placed onto the surface of the teeth and hold the archwire with their sliding door.

These do not use rubber bands like traditional braces, as the rubber causes too much friction which makes the treatment more painful. Damon brackets are tieless and move the teeth with very light natural forces.

The brackets are more ergonomic and smaller in size, therefore more comfortable than traditional braces. The patented technique uses light, natural forces that put less pressure on the teeth, but it still gives outstanding results in much shorter time.

Additionally, the placement of the brackets can be personalised, which helps the orthodontist adjust the position of the teeth easily.

Damon Clear aesthetic braces

  • all the advantages of traditional braces
  • uses light, natural forces
  • healthier for the gum and teeth
  • faster results
  • wider arch for a more aesthetic smile
  • less appointments

Damon Clear braces provide a much more aesthetic option for orthodonitc patients. Crafter from clear sapphire, these brackets make the braces virtually invisible. Thanks to the high-quality materials used, Damon Clear braces are less prone to discolouration.

The brackets keep the archwire just as stable as Damon Q braces and changing the wire remains just as simple thanks to the sliding door of the brackets. The brackets are fixed on the surface of the teeth using modern techniques that keeps them from moving or breaking off. The rounded shape of the brackets make the braces more comfortable than traditional ones.

Damon Clear braces are one of the most aesthetic solution for both children and adults.
